Use this sample APA paper as a model to format your paper. (Note: The introduction in the sample paper is not appropriate for your first essay. Nor will the first essay have subtitles.)

Note the running header. The running header appears on the right side above the top margin on every page. The running header includes a short version of the title of your paper and a page number which is automatically inserted by Word. To create a running header in Word go to View/Header and Footer. Enter your short title, enter five spaces, place the cursor in the page number position, and click the page number symbol on the button bar.

The following items are individually centered:

* Name of paper, plain font, no bold, etc.
* Your name
* Class and section
* Professor Mendelsohn
* Full date
